DEGIRO offers four different profile types:
- Basic
- Active
- Trader
- Day Trader
The investment risks associated with each account profile are lowest in the Basic profile and highest in the Day Trader profile. Using the Derivatives, Debit Money (trading on margin) and Debit Securities (short selling) services involves additional risk, and it is possible that your losses could exceed the amount of your deposit, resulting in a negative Balance.
Please note that the Active, Trader and Day Trader profiles are only available for legacy accounts that already had them enabled. It is no longer possible to change your account to a profile that offers margin trading.
