If you think that DEGIRO have violated the terms and conditions and this has resulted in a financial loss please send an email outlining your complaint to complaints@degiro.ie Any complaints will be dealt with independently by our compliance department. Please go to the DEGIRO homepage and click Login in the top right-hand corner of the page. Then simply enter the username and password you chose during the registration.

If you have forgotten your password, you can use the reset password option on the Login screen by selecting Forgotten your login details?

After your account has been opened, you can change your contact details by clicking on Change Settings in the WebTrader.

In order to change the bank details registered on your account, we require an initial payment to be made from the new account to verify the name on the new bank account.

Yes. You can choose to receive automatic trade confirmation emails when your orders are executed. To select this option, go to Trading Settings and choose to receive an email under Feedback order status.

No. DEGIRO’s services are provided entirely online. We do not issue any paper (certified) shares or contract notes.

Unfortunately we cannot currently send duplicate trade confirmations to a third party. However for reporting trades to your compliance department, we are able to send a quarterly statement of your Transaction Overview.

Upon request, DEGIRO can provide a Certificate of Ultimate Beneficial Ownership (UBO). This will show all holdings in your account at a given time and date.

The primary reference number for DEGIRO clients is the username used to log in.

You can open multiple accounts with the same details (name, address, email, etc.). The only details which must be different is the username.

If you wish to open multiple accounts using the same bank details, when transferring funds please include the username you wish to have the funds added to in the details of the transfer.

DEGIRO offers a number of different statement types. To download a statement click on the appropriate tab, and select the date range desired. On the left hand of the screen you can choose to download in .xls, .csv, or .pdf format.

The following statement types are available:

  • Portfolio: Statement and valuation of your current portfolio and cash balance at the time of download.
  • Account: Statement of all activity on your account. This statement includes (but is not limited to) your trades, commission fees, applicable taxes, and interest charges.
  • Transactions: Statement of all trades made on your account.

Additionally, DEGIRO will release an Annual Report of your account. This can be found under the Reports tab.

The Client Agreement is comprised of:

In case of clients, who have chosen profiles “Active”, “Trader” or “Day Trader”, there are additional conditions in place, which, if applicable, are part of the Client Agreement:

  • The Appendix Debit Money, consisting of the Debit Money Conditions and the signed Acceptance Form Debit Money (to be found on your WebTrader)
  • The Appendix Debit Securities, consisting of the Debit Securities Conditions and the signed Acceptance Form Debit Securities (to be found on your WebTrader)
  • The Appendix Derivatives, consisting of the Derivatives Conditions and the signed Acceptance Form Derivatives (to be found on your WebTrader).

In order to help improve the client experience at DEGIRO, we would kindly appreciate your feedback and the main reason for the closure request. When we have received your e-mail, we will close the account and return any deposits to your nominated bank account.

DEGIRO offers 5 different profile types:

  • Basic
  • Custody
  • Active
  • Trader
  • Day Trader

The investment risks associated with each account profile are lowest in Basic/Custody profiles and highest in the Day Trader profile. Use of the Derivatives, Debit Money and Debit Securities services carry extra risk and it is possible your losses could exceed the amount of your deposit, leading to a negative Balance.

When first registering with DEGIRO, you can choose between a Basic and a Custody account.

Basic

A Basic profile provides you with access to all available products and investment services of DEGIRO except Debit Money, Debit Securities and Derivatives. This is the standard account type when you register with DEGIRO. If desired you can change a Basic account to an Active or Trader.

Custody

A Custody profile is different from a Basic profile in that the securities are held separately from the lending pool of DEGIRO clients’ securities and are thus unable to be loaned to third parties. Debit Money, Debit Securities, and Derivative trading is not available with a Custody profile and you cannot change to an Active, Trader, or Day Trader account. A Custody Profile has different conditions and fees. However you will still benefit from our low transaction costs and save money through trading with DEGIRO.

Basic account holders who wish to start using Debit Money, Debit Securities, or Derivatives trading facilities can change to an Active or a Trader account. There is no additional charge for this.

Active

An Active profile provides all the services of a Basic profile with the addition of the Debit Money, Debit Securities and Derivatives services. Under this profile, use of Debit Money is limited to 50% of your available margin. Please, see the document Security Value, Risk, Debit Money and Debit Securities for further information.

Trader

A Trader profile provides all the services of a Basic profile with the addition of the Debit Money, Debit Securities and Derivatives services. Under this profile, you have full use of 100% of your available margin. Please, see the document Security Value, Risk, Debit Money and Debit Securities for further information.

Day Trader

A Day Trader Profile allows you to trade more actively during the time that DEGIRO and the relevant markets are open. Separate limits and conditions apply to the Day Trader profile between 7:00 and 20:30 Irish time. Risk will be calculated in a different way than under the other Profiles and as a consequence, with the same amount of Security Value, more exposure can be taken. Due to the nature of the Custody account, you cannot convert a Basic/Active/Trader account to a Custody account or vice versa.
